五年级科学课：探索人体的奥妙!
常州威雅公学小学部的学生最近一直专注于秋季学期的科学课程，主题是学习和了解关于包含人类在内的动物。大家都对这一主题非常感兴趣，十分期待系统地了解我们的身体及其工作机制。包括学习身体内所有骨骼的名称，以及消化系统和循环系统是如何工作的。
学习科学课程可以发展学生的语言和知识，因为在此过程中学生有大量的机会进行学习和观察。我们的学生总是被科学课程深深地吸引，因为我们的科学课堂十分具有互动性，并提供一系列不同风格的活动，课堂上的教与学都十分高效。
教孩子们了解他们的身体、学会尊重和保护好自己的身体，是我们课程内容的重中之重。帮助孩子们更多地了解他们身体器官的功能以及该如何保护自己的身体，可以帮助他们未来选择更好的生活方式。我们的学生对人体器官是如何工作的非常感兴趣。他们不停地询问关于人体解剖学的问题，比如：我们是如何长大的？我们为什么需要睡觉？我们一共有多少块骨头？为什么人类不吃草？好奇的孩子们不仅仅提出了许多问题，同时他们也在积极地寻找答案。可以说这是五年级的孩子们学术成功的秘诀！
了解身体的骨骼的确能帮助学生们拓展想象力，从我们最初制作真人大小的人体图的课程中就能明显看出这一点。这是一个很好的方式来检验孩子们对我们的骨骼系统概念和知识的掌握度，通过课堂学习，学生们正在不断地进步。
作为身体循环系统研究的一部分，他们学习了解了心脏是如何工作的，血液如何在体内流动。学生们了解到，心脏的本质是肌肉，并通过肌肉运动向全身输送血液，血液携带氧气和营养物质到达你的大脑和其他器官。我们要求孩子们自己制作一个心脏工作的模型，让他们对身体循环系统得到了更加清晰的理解，在此过程中还让他们了解了关于我们心脏瓣膜是如何工作的。所有人都做得非常棒！
The pupils of WASCZ have been busy with the autumn terms Science Curriculum, Animals including humans. It’s such an exciting way to learn all about our bodies and how they work. This has included learning all the names of the bones in the body, how the digestive systems works and progressing to the circulation system!
Science lends itself well to developing our pupils’ language and content knowledge because there are so many opportunities for hands on learning and observation, and our pupils are always rivetted by our science lessons because they are interactive and offer a range of activities which make the teaching and learning outcomes more effective for pupils with different learning styles.
Teaching children about their bodies, and how to respect and care for them, is a top priority in our curriculum. Helping children to learn more about the functions of, and ways of caring for, parts of their bodies equips them with the knowledge they need to make better lifestyle choices.
Our pupils have been fascinated by how the body works. They have asked questions endlessly about the human anatomy, how we grow, why we need to sleep, how many bones we have and why can’t humans eat grass! Curious pupils not only ask questions but actively seek out answers. The perfect recipe for academic success Grade 5!
Learning about their bones really stretched their imaginations, which was evident from the lifesize diagrams that were produced in some of our first lessons. This was a great way to assess what concepts and knowledge the children had of our skeletal system and to see their understanding develop over each lesson.
As part of their study of the circulatory system they learn how the heart works and blood travels around the body. The heart is a muscle that pumps blood around your body; blood carries oxygen and nutrients to your brain and organs. The children’s understanding of this system was clearly illustrated when they were set the task of creating a working model of a pumping heart, which included a wonderful example of how the valves in our heart work!
